Steinerne Kemenate

Short facts

  • Coburg
  • Sights
Passing through the archway of the Münzmeisterhaus you enter the Neugasse where you will find the Steinerne Kemenate, the city’s oldest still standing privately-owned building. It was built sometime in the 12th century, but the exact date is no longer known. Although it has a rather simple façade, its massive crowstepped gable and characteristic Gothic features make it stand out. (Neugasse 1)
