Short facts

  • Coburg
  • Sights
The Münzmeisterhaus, first mentioned in a 1288 dated document, has existed in its present-day form since 1333 and is among the oldest half-timbered houses in Germany. The timber-frame structure has an “Alemannic” design. The history of the Münzmeisterhaus is closely tied to the influential family of mint masters, who would later become the Lords of Rosenau. Many of its members were councilmen and mayors of the city. (Ketschengasse 7)
